LIFE TIMELINE

DEC. 10 1949

BIRTH

A sack of dirty socks and a baby are left on the doorstep of an old racist man. After giving the baby to a loving family, the racist man realizes that the pile of dirty socks are so crusty and gross that they're alive so he names the pile, David Perdue.

2002-2003

JOB FAILURE

In June 2002 David became the CEO of PillowTex, a North Carolina textile company. He left the company in 2003 after nine months on the job. An internal auditor noted that Perdue's long-time absences from its North Carolina Headquarters was "terrible for morale. We felt he'd given up." Pillowtex closed several months later, leaving 7,650 workers out of work nationwide and 4,000 jobs lost statewide.

OCTOBER 2020

RACISM

In October 2020, Perdue made international news by mocking Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris by repeatedly mispronouncing her name. Perdue called Harris "Kah-mah-la or Kah-ma-la or Kamamboamamla", which drew scattered laughter from the crowd. Perdue, who has served with Harris in the Senate since 2017, undoubtedly knows how to pronounce her name. He deliberately pretended otherwise because he’s racist.

JANUARY 24TH 2020

INSIDER TRADING

On January 24, 2020, Perdue bought around $65,000 of stock in DuPont, a company that makes personal protective equipment, on the same day as a private Senate briefing on the spread of COVID-19. Over the next few months, Perdue bought and sold around $5.8 million and $5.6 million worth of stocks respectively, a significant increase from his previous portfolio activity.

2020 CAMPAIGN

ANTI-SEMITISM

During the 2020 campaign, he ran an ad in which the nose of his opponent, Jon Ossoff, was enlarged; the use of an anti-Semitic trope was criticized as a dog whistle reference to Ossoff's Jewish heritage. The ad also featured Ossoff's image next to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, both of whom are Jewish, and said Democrats are trying to "buy Georgia," with a link to raise funds for Perdue's campaign.
